Livingston manager David Martindale has moved to clear up comments he made about Celtic earlier this week.

The experienced coach said that the champions were the only team in Scotland's top flight who had a "divine right" to be winning every game.

He made the comments a day after Rangers lost to St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Sunday.

Livingston can make it three wins in a week against hearts on Saturday after impressive victories over Kilmarnock and Aberdeen in the last seven days.

However, he has now spoken about how difficult a feat that is for teams in the Premiership given the competitive nature of the division.

It was through this the Lions boss moved to clarify the comments he made about Celtic and their domestic form.

He told the media: "Hopefully we do get to three games. It's difficult.

"I spoke about it earlier but I think I came across slightly wrong in the respect I said Celtic have got the divine right to pick points up.

"They've not got a divine right but they are probably the team with the highest probability of winning on a Saturday going on their current form and momentum.

"Everybody else, anybody can beat anybody on any given day so it's a highly competitive league. Getting these three games on the bounce is really really difficult for probably outside the Old Firm.

"So it's a really big ask as Hearts will be looking for three points and we are looking for three points so it should be a good game of football."

Meanwhile, Celtic are seeking clarification from the Scottish FA over the camera angles used by VAR to determine Jota's offside goal versus Motherwell.

The Portuguese winger thought he'd doubled the Hoops' lead at Fir Park on Wednesday night with a delightful chip over Liam Kelly in the second-half.

However, VAR would eventually intervene to advised on field referee Willie Collum that the 23-year-old was in fact offside. The goal was chopped off as a result.

Controversy was then sparked about VAR's ability to make this decision, with the camera angle shown on TV and Motherwell's live stream of the game from the opposite end of the pitch.

No image of the situation was provided from the Motherwell half to viewers.
