Rangers-linked Kenny McLean has signed a new contract with Norwich City.

The Scotland international has extended his deal with the Canaries till 2026.

He has played 20 times for the Yellows this season and has now committed his future to the English Championship club.

It had been reported previously that the Light Blues were interested in the 30-year-old before this announcement.

After signing the extension, the midfielder said: "It's something I'm really happy to get done. I’m really happy and settled at this football club and have made many happy memories here.

"On the pitch, highlights have been the two promotions. The changing room is excellent which makes it easier, you're coming into work every day with your mates.

"It's a great club to be at, they look after you off the field in a lot of ways. It's a properly family club.

“We’ve now got a really important period coming up. We know we’ve got to improve on the pitch, but we’re raring to go and can’t wait to get back into the season again.”

Meanwhile, former Ibrox boss Mark Warburton has urged Michael Beale to think "very clearly" if he is offered the chance to become the next Rangers manager.

"I think Michael is well aware of the size of Rangers football club," said Warburton when discussing the Rangers managerial search on Sky Sports

"It's a global institution recognised around the world for the history of the club. It's a fantastic opportunity and Michael will know that.

"He'll recognise the club and have very good relationships within the club established when he was working with Steven.

"Should it come along it will be a fantastic opportunity and very hard to turn it down.

"I think that he was offered a job by Wolves and chose to stay at QPR speaks volumes for his thought process and what he is looking to do with his career so made that decision for his career, so I’m sure it’s not a done deal by any means yet."
