They have both been key performers for Rangers for a number of years, but it remains to be seen whether Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos will sign new deals.

Both Ibrox stars are out of contract in the summer and as a result, they are free to speak to clubs in January regarding pre-contract agreements.

During Rangers' AGM yesterday it was revealed that the club have already knocked back bids for the pair, despite their recent form.

New contracts were also discussed and here is what club officials have said on both players in recent weeks.

Sporting director Ross Wilson at the Rangers AGM

“They are not being allowed to run their contracts down.

"We would absolutely, and Michael said it in the press conference, like those two players you have mentioned to commit their futures to Rangers.

"You saw during Kenny’s presentation that there is a clear willingness from the board to invest in the squad.

"However, for a player to sign a contract and stay here, there needs to be certainly two parties willing to commit – the football club and the player.

"You also need the agent, you sometimes need the wife, you sometimes need the mum and dad and everyone involved.

"The two players involved – Ryan and Alfredo – are two very different situations.

"I don’t think it is fair to go into why they are different but they are different situations.

"There is definitely a willingness from the club for the boys to stay.

"There is definitely a willingness from the manager for the two boys to be part of Rangers moving forward.

"Time will tell if we can get there. Certainly from the club’s point of view, we want the players to be with us."

Chairman Douglas Park at the Rangers AGM

"Can I just add, that the board have tried to negotiate with those players.

"There comes a stage, like in any negotiation, where you try to settle.

"If the terms that maybe people are looking for are unattainable, you sometimes have to accept that you have done your best."

Manager Michael Beale during a recent interview

"They are two players that I've worked well with previously," he explained to Sky Sports

"When I was here previously they were both excellent in different ways.

"In Alfredo, in terms of the goals he scored, and Ryan in terms of the way he entertained people and got on the ball and took the game to the opponent.

"I think they're capable of more than they're showing right now, that's fair to say, but they'll have their own reasons for that and they'll be working away at that.

"I trust both players and we've played this out as a club before with Connor Goldson and his contract situation.

"Sometimes a player wants to see and take their time, there's no problem, it's fine. I think the option is both ways with the players, the cards aren't in Ryan and Alfredo's hands.

"We also want to create a stronger Rangers going forward, with or without those players. Ideally with them."
