Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been told that won't find a better club than the one he is currently already at.

This is according to former Chelsea player Pat Nevin who reckons that the grass will not be greener for the Colombian should he leave Ibrox.

The forward's contract is up at the end of the season, and it is unknown whether he will be signing an extension.

Nevin also criticised the 26-year-olds recent performance against rivals Celtic.

Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, he said: "Morelos was rubbish in the Old Firm and won’t play for a better club than Rangers.

Ibrox sporting director Ross Wilson provided a contract update on the striker and Ryan Kent during the recent AGM revealing that the club have received bids for both.

In a question to the Gers board, one fan asked whether the pair still have a future at Ibrox.

They said: “You have said you are comfortable with the contracts or Alfredo and Ryan. Why have we allowed them to run down their contracts?”

Wilson responded: “They are not being allowed to run their contracts down.

"We would absolutely, and Michael said it in the press conference, like those two players you have mentioned to commit their futures to Rangers.

"You saw during Kenny’s presentation that there is a clear willingness from the board to invest in the squad.

"However, for a player to sign a contract and stay here, there needs to be certainly two parties willing to commit – the football club and the player.

"You also need the agent, you sometimes need the wife, you sometimes need the mum and dad and everyone involved.

"The two players involved – Ryan and Alfredo – are two very different situations.

"I don’t think it is fair to go into why they are different but they are different situations.

"There is definitely a willingness from the club for the boys to stay.

"There is definitely a willingness from the manager for the two boys to be part of Rangers moving forward.

"Time will tell if we can get there. Certainly from the club’s point of view, we want the players to be with us."
