Rangers striker Robbie Ure is set for talks with the Ibrox club over a new deal, according to reports.

Football Scotland claim that the 18-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, is a player that Michael Beale's men want to keep.

The forward has scored 10 goals and provided six assists for the B team in the Lowland League this season.

He made his first team debut during a League Cup match against Queen of the South in August and found the net for the first time as a professional in that game.

Ure also featured prominently for the young Gers in the UEFA Youth League, where he scored three times in six fixtures.

The 18-year-old made an appearance in Giovanni van Bronckhorst's last match as Rangers boss when he came off the bench during 1-1 draw with St Mirren in Paisley.

Meanwhile, a past interview with Ryan Porteous has thrown up a Rangers "Ibrox" response, amid speculation about the defender's future.

The Hibernian centre-back is out of contract in the summer and the Easter Road club have announced that he will not be signing a new deal.

Porteous is free to speak to clubs in January and he could leave Edinburgh if the price was right.

The Scotland international's contract situation has thrown up numerous reports suggesting where he will end up come the end of the transfer window.
