Former Rangers striker Florian Kamberi has signed for English Championship side Huddersfield Town.

The 27-year-old, who also had spells in Scotland with Hibernian and Aberdeen, has been on trial with Mark Fotheringham's men during the World Cup break.

The Terriers originally listed him in their squad after his contract was terminated by Swiss Super League club Winterhur.

When asked whether or not he would be bringing the forward to the club, Fotheringham said: "I will be signing him in January, yes.

“I knew him at Karlsruher and he’s done well in Switzerland and exploded at Hibs.

“We want to get an arm around this kind of player and get him firing again and we maybe need to introduce players who can grab goals in all areas of the pitch, and Florian can contribute as well.”

During his time at Ibrox, Kamberi played nine times for the Light Blues, scoring once and assisting twice in the 2019-20 season before football was stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, Rangers have launched a transfer bid for Hearts youngster James Wilson, according to reports.

The Daily Record report that the Ibrox club have written to Hearts to inform the Tynecastle club that they will begin negotiations with Wilson to try and tempt him to Glasgow.
