Ex-Celtic winger Aiden McGeady is 'fit and available' for Hibs' upcoming Scottish Premiership match against Rangers.

The Republic of Ireland international, who has been injured since August, got a run out against Raith Rovers in a recent friendly.

The 36-year-old signed for the Hibees in the summer but his game time has been restricted after picking up a knock early on in the season.

However, he seems to have put his injury worries behind him as his manager Lee Johnson has confirmed he is among the group of players available for the trip to Ibrox on Thursday, December 15.

"We need our best players fit and the maximum number of options available," the Englishman said.

"Going into the Rangers game, we’ve certainly got minutes in these players.

"Whether we’ve got 96 minutes is another story because of their history, but at the same time if we can make them sharp for 45 to 60 minutes, then that leaves us with options.

"That will help us play the way that we want to play for as long as possible.

"As a staff we’ve been working extremely hard, I include the back of house on the football side, which is recruitment, player care, operations and the physio team."
