Celtic defender Josip Juranovic has been praised by BBC pundit Alex Scott after he helped his side progress to the semi-finals of the World Cup.

The right-back starred as Croatia defeated Brazil on penalties.

And the former England Women's international had this to say at full-time: "You know who I want to talk about? The best player on the pitch was a right-back.

"What a game Juranovic had. Through the 90 minutes he was up and down, his composure on the ball and he ran the game."

The 27-year-old was previously highlighted on the half-time coverage of the match, with Scott once again picking him out as a key figure for Croatia

"He is not sitting worried about the Brazillian overload down this side," she said.

"He is saying I am going to make you worry about me and drive into forward spaces when I can.

"Look at his energy just to get forward and sometimes it is about being an option.

"He is doing that well and that helps his team get up the field, making Brazil worry about him.

"He has been driving into space and I absolutely love it.

"When we are talking about attacking right-backs and being brave on the ball, to do this [playing a cross-field pass] at the end of it is just quality."

Former German international Jurgen Klinsmann also gave his thoughts on the 27-year-old, saying: "This is what managers want to see. They want to see one on one battles and who drives each other mad.

"In this case, he [Juranovic] is telling Vincius Jr 'I am in charge here and I am the boss.'"
