Celtic defender Josip Juranovic's performance against Brazil has been praised by former Chelsea defender William Gallas.

The Hoops right-back was influential in helping Croatia reach the semi-finals of the World Cup for a second successive tournament.

He has earned rave reviews from across the globe and the ex-Stamford Bridge star is latest to sing the 27-year-olds praises

Speaking to Genting Casino, he said: "What he did against Brazil was just unbelievable.

"He had to play against Vinicuis Jr, Neymar drifted over to his side, the guy defended very well and, at the same time, he was attacking.

"Can you imagine putting in a performance like that against that level of opponent?

"Normally when you know that you have to keep players like Neymar and Vinicius quiet what do you do?

"You think, tonight I’m going to have a nightmare and I will just have to defend, I won’t attack.

"When he had the opportunity, he was attacking. What he did in that game was unbelievable."

The former Legia Warsaw man's future at Parkhead is currently up for debate, and Bhoys hero Frank McAvennie has praised the Croatian, claiming he can go and play "anywhere."

The ex-Scotland international rates the 27-year-old highly and feels that if the player is to leave Parkhead it will be to join a top club.

The Croatian, who is currently preparing for a World Cup semi-final against Argentina, has been linked with several teams since the summer transfer window, including Atletico Madrid and Chelsea.

McAvennie feels that the signing of Alistair Johnston points to Juranovic potentially being on his way out of Glasgow.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: "Anywhere he goes he will be a first team player because he is that good.

"There is obviously something in the wind because they have just bought Johnston."
