The date in which Celtic star Sead Haksabanovic is expected to return from injury has been revealed.

The Montenegro international has been forced to miss Celtic's match against Aberdeen today due to injury.

Hoops boss Postecoglou confirmed in the build-up to kick-off in the Granite City that Haksabanovic was injured during Friday's training session.

"He just picked up a knock at training yesterday, unfortunately," the Parkhead manager told Sky Sports ahead of kick-off.

Now, it has been detailed that the 23-year-old should only be out of action for a matter of days.

Sky Sports commentator, Ian Crocker, prior to the match at lunchtime today, said that Haksabanovic should be available for selection for Celtic's next game against Livingston.

This takes place on Wednesday, December 21 at Celtic Park, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

That's good news for both the club and on-form player.

The winger was the recipient of the SPFL Premiership player of the month award for November earlier in the week.

Off the field, Haksabanovic is at the centre of a messy transfer row that has ended up at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which will rule on a dispute involving the Montenegro star.

A disagreement involving one of his previous transfers has gone all the way to the highest sports court in the world, based in Switzerland.

Haksabanovic moved from Swedish side IFK Norrkoping to the Russian club last year for £4.75 million, of which former club West Ham were entitled to around £1 million because of a sell-on clause when they sold him back to Sweden in 2020.

However, Norrkoping complained to FIFA because they failed to receive full payment for the 23-year-old, with Rubin claiming they were unable to pay because of sanctions against Russian football and their club.

And with FIFA unable to resolve the dispute, Haksabanovic's case will now be heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in the new year and he may have to appear to give evidence.
