Ben Doak achieved another huge milestone in his budding career last night.

The 17-year-old Scot made his Premier League debut against Aston Villa.

Jurgen Klopp sent the attacker on with five-minutes left on the clock as Liverpool defeated Unai Emery's side 3-1 upon the return of England's top flight following the World Cup.

Doak joined the Anfield club earlier this year from Celtic

The teenager was signed for a development fee believed to be around the £600,000 mark.

After impressing for the club's academy sides both in the Premier League 2 and Uefa Youth League, the Irvine-born lad has been training with Klopp's first team and featured in some recent friendly matches.

He officially made his debut against Derby in the Carabao Cup earlier this season.

However, last night was his first appearance in the Premier League, as he came off the bench in the final moments of the match.

And while he may have only been on the field for a short period, Doak showed exactly what he's capable of, and gave Reds fans a glimpse of what to expect in the future.

He skipped past Villa left-back Lucas Digne inside a minute of coming on as he dummied a pass and left the Frenchman on his heels.

Supporters were full of praise for the young Scot following his cameo, with one calling him "majestic".

Doak is still developing at a young age still, clearly. But he's certainly gathering a reputation as one of Scotland's best current young talents.

He made his debut for Celtic against Rangers in February earlier this year. He signed for Liverpool in the summer.

Meanwhile, David Turnbull should be worried about the seemingly imminent arrival of Tomoki Iwata at Celtic.

That's according to former Parkhead hero Charlie Nicholas.

The Scotland international was sent off during the Hoops' 4-1 win over St Johnstone on Christmas Eve.

After being a mainstay in the team for the past two seasons, the ex-Motherwell starlet has made just six Premiership appearances so far this term.
