Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet is reportedly back on Celtic's transfer radar.

The 25-year-old recently returned from a lengthy injury layoff and has hit seven goals in his last six games.

That includes a hat-trick against Motherwell earlier this month.

The Scottish Sun claim Nisbet's form has led to interest from Celtic - who were keen on the striker back in 2021.

A report suggests Celtic recruitment gurus are analysing "game-play data" to examine Nisbet's suitability to play Ange Postecoglou's tireless style.

Nisbet is contracted at Hibs until next summer, meaning any deal would require a decent transfer fee to be completed with Hibs unlikely to want to lose the forward.

The Celtic interest comes as it's claimed talks with Cho Gue-Sung have stalled and speculation over Giorgos Giakoumakis continues.

The Greek forward has been tipped for a Parkhead exit this month with Urawa Red Diamonds, Sampdoria and Atlanta United battling for his signature.

Gue-Sung has been heavily linked with a move to Celtic this month, but it appears discussions have halted amid interest elsewhere.

With that in mind, Celtic could pursue a possible move for Nisbet should his in-game data be deemed suitable to cope with the fitness demands at the club.

It comes after Scott Allan claimed Nisbet is keeping Hibs boss Lee Johnson in a job.

He said: "He [Nisbet] is singlehandedly taking Hibs back up the league and the goals he’s scoring at the moment are of real quality.

“When you’re scoring goals like that in January… I know Hibs are looking to get players out but they need to keep players like him because he’s going to be essential in getting them back up the league.

“I would say there’s obviously a lot of pressure on at Hibs at the moment but when you’ve got a striker like that producing the goods he probably is keeping him [Johnson] in a job at the moment.

“There’s a lot of pressure there but this window for Hibs is going to be crucial. I know Lee Johnson came out and said they’ll finish it stronger than they came into it.

“But if you lose Ryan Porteous he’s going to be a hard one to replace.”
