Charlie McCann is reportedly headed for the Rangers exit door.

The Northern Ireland midfielder is closing in on a move to League One.

The Daily Record say that Forest Green Rovers are edging closer to agreeing a deal for the talented 20-year-old.

Their report states that the EFL side have struck and agreement with the Gers B team player.

It's said that the midfielder, who has been involved with the first team as well, has travelled down south for talks.

A new deal was on the table at Ibrox, however, McCann is eager to play regular first team football. He wasn't convinced this would come by signing on to stay at Rangers.

Michael Beale's side were believed to be keen on keeping McCann, but the young player believes playing more regular first team football will be more beneficial to his career.

He joined the Glasgow giants in 2021 from Manchester United's academy.

He's made 12 appearance for Rangers and their B team this campaign. He's scored 5 in those matched - all with the Colt team.

His last first team appearance was in last weekend's Viaplay Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen.

Although, he was pictured with the rest of the first team squad at Rugby Park for the 3-2 win over Kilmarnock midweek.

Forest Green may be ambitious, but they're struggling badly at the foot of League One so far this term.

While sitting bottom, the points gap to the teams above them is very tight. Some of their relegation rivals do have a game in hand, though.
