Mick Kennedy's side stunned Aberdeen on Monday night earlier this week. Darvel ran out deserved 1-0 winners to secure passage to the fifth round of the tournament.

The result has been regarded as the biggest shock in the competition's history.

It had been expected that the disastrous result would spell the end for Jim Goodwin at Aberdeen.

However, in a statement released by Dave Cormack last night, the Dons chairman said that the manager would remain in place for their game against Hibs on Saturday.

Falkirk defeated Alloa Athletic 2-1 at the weekend to book their slot in this upcoming round of the Scottish Cup.
