Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has provided a transfer update on striker Giorgos Giakoumakis.

It comes after Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph recently reported that the Hoops had "agreed a deal with Atlanta United worth £4.3million for the player".

The Greece international has been linked with a move away from the club since before the January window opened.

He has not featured for the Scottish champions since the League Cup semi-final victory against Kilmarnock.

And now the Hoops manager has attempted to provide more clarity on the situation.

When asked about the 28-year-olds future, he said: "We are getting to the tail end of it one way or another and we will get a conclusion in the next 24 hours.

"Nothing [is] concluded yet, just ongoing discussions.”

The Australian also detailed that he is no expecting the Bhoys to sign anyone else before the transfer window closes.

Celtic have already added Yuki Kobayashi, Alistair Johnston, Tomoki Iwata and Oh Hyeon-gyu during the month of January.

Postecoglou continued: "There won’t be any other incoming. In terms of outgoings there are still some things happening in the background but nothing [is] confirmed yet.”

One of the players who could be departing the club is Yosuke Ideguchi.

The Japanese midfielder is reportedly being monitored by clubs in Germany and Japan over a temporary Celtic departure.

Ideguchi, 26, only joined Celtic in January last year but could be headed for the exit this evening.

Ange Postecoglou signed Ideguchi - on a deal to 2026 - alongside moves for Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate.

However, the midfielder has had his game time limited by squad competition along with injury problems.

Ideguchi hasn't featured at all for Celtic this season - only being on the bench for a handful of fixtures.

The Scottish Sun claim that Ideguchi is keen on a loan exit on deadline day.

Former J-League club Gamba Osaka are reportedly keeping tabs on Ideguchi with German club Greuther Furth also monitoring the situation.
