James Sands' Rangers future has been addressed.

The versatile midfielder is on loan at Ibrox from New York City.

He has been at the club for over a year now after joining under Giovanni van Bronckhorst on an 18-month deal from the MLS outfit.

He was a mainstay under the Dutchman, but he's barely featured under Michael Beale since his arrival as manager in November.

Sands has been utilised in defence and midfield for Rangers.

However, with the signing of Nicolas Raskin, the American has fallen further down the pecking order at Ibrox.

Beale said that a final decision on Sands, and other players' futures has yet to be concluded.

While rumours over his exit have been rife in recent days, New York City head coach Nick Cushing is giving nothing away.

Asked about Sands, he said: "I don't think it's right to discuss individual players and especially players who aren't in our squad.

"I think for us, there are many negotiations going on across all of our squad. Recruitment at the moment is a big focus of ours.

"But I do not want to comment on individual situations."

Meanwhile, Ally McCoist has told critics of Rangers star Alfredo Morelos to 'grow up'.

The former Ibrox manager insists there was no issue with the Colombian striker celebrating in front of the Hearts supporters on Wednesday night.

The Gers hitman bagged a brace at Tynecastle as Michael Beale's side ran out 3-0 winners in the capital.

Much has been made of Morelos' decision to celebrate in front of the Hearts fans on both occasions, showcasing his trademark knee slide.
