Ange Postecoglou has emerged as a possible candidate for the vacant Leeds United job.

The Celtic boss was quickly listed among the frontrunners for the post by oddsmakers.

Jesse Marsch was relieved of his duties by the club this afternoon. The American boss and coaches Rene Maric, Cameron Toshack and Pierre Barrieu will also leave the club.

Now, frontrunners have been touted for the job with Celtic's Postecoglou mentioned amid the speculation.

The Parkhead manager is priced at 10/1 by SkyBet in the instant odds for the next Leeds manager.

It's not the first time Postecoglou has been linked with a Premier League switch having been similarly linked with Everton and Brighton previously.

Carlos Corberan is favourite at 6/4 with Mauricio Pochettino at 13/2. Marcelo Bielsa is 9/1 before Postecoglou at 10/1.

Former Rangers management duo Steven Gerrard and Giovanni van Bronckhorst are major outsiders for the job.

A Leeds club statement read: “#LUFC can confirm head coach Jesse Marsch has been relieved of his duties.”

“Jesse joined the club in February 2022 and was instrumental in keeping the club in the Premier League on the final day of last season.

“Rene Maric, Cameron Toshack and Pierre Barrieu will also leave the club. We would like to thank Jesse and his backroom staff for their efforts and wish them well for the future.

“The process of appointing a new head coach is underway and we will continue to keep supporters up to date throughout the coming days.”
