Rangers tasted defeated in the Mohammed VI Cup this morning.

David McCallum's side were beaten 2-1 by Fath Union Sport.

Taking part in the international tournament in Morocco, the Gers young guns were aiming to seal a place in the semi-finals of the competition.

They've faced off against Marseille and host side AMF in the groups. Rangers defeated the former, but lost to the latter to progress to today's quarter-final.

However, despite going 1-0 in the second-half of today's contest, they will not play in the semi-finals after FUS completed a 2-1 comeback.

Rangers will be back in action later today when they play their Pre-Classification match. The opponents of this game have still to be determined.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Rangers have received a triple boost on the injury front ahead of this weekend's Viaplay Cup final.

Michael Beale's side are preparing to face Celtic to battle it out at Hampden for the first available silverware of the campaign.

And the Daily Record reports that the Light Blues could have Malik Tillman, John Lundstram and Kemar Roofe back in time for the showpiece event.

They state that Tillman has been given the all clear to return to training to prove his fitness ahead of the derby encounter.

It's also said that experienced midfielder Lundstram also re-joined his teammates in first team action at the club's training centre yesterday.

Their report insists that Roofe hopes to make himself available for selection as well after club medics confirmed his latest knock would not force him on to the sidelines for long.

The striker has spent most of the season out injured, battling to get off the treatment table.
