Celtic winger Jota has teased there are "exciting times ahead" for the Parkhead side after their victory over Rangers in the League Cup final.

The Hoops ran out 2-1 winners against Michael Beale's men at Hampden thanks to a double from striker Kyogo Furuhashi.

It is the second season in a row that Ange Postecoglou's side have won the competition.

And Jota has now claimed there is more to come from the Scottish champions.

Speaking to ViaPlay, he said: "It was a really important win for us and we are pleased with the victory. What we did today, in the first-half especially, showed what our team is.

"In the second-half, it was not so good but we are happy. I think every win is very important and I am very grateful to be part of these moments at Celtic.

"I think to be a Celtic fan and player nowadays is unbelievable. We practice really good football and I think the fans are happy to see us.

"We give everything for this football club are there are exciting times ahead.”

Meanwhile, Celtic captain Callum McGregor has praised the Parkhead side's "personality" after the victory.

The Scotland international had nothing but good things to say about his team-mates at full-time.

He told ViaPlay:"On the big days you have got to show personality and I thought we played really well.

"Second-half, we had to dig in a bit. This means everything and we are always trying to get better and we put those demands on each other.

"You have to turn up on the big days and this is what it is all about."
