Former Rangers caretaker boss Graeme Murty is reportedly a candidate for the vacant Oxford United manager post.
The 48-year-old who served in various coaching roles from the Ibrox youth teams to caretaker manager is currently at Sunderland working with the youth academy.
But, The Northern Echo report that Murty is included in a shortlist of possible replacements at Oxford after Karl Robinson's dismissal.
It's claimed the League One club are keen to make a quickfire appointment with Craig Short, Leon Blackmore-Such and Wayne Brown currently overseeing first-team matters.
The report suggests no formal approach has been made to Sunderland by Oxford over talks but it's thought the coach would be allowed to discuss the position.

A statement confirming Robinson had been releived of his duties on Sunday read: "Oxford United can confirm the departure of Karl Robinson who leaves his role as Head Coach at the club with immediate effect.
"The Board would like to thank Karl for his hard work and efforts in the five years since he joined but recent results and performances mean that a change is needed.
"The search for a new Head Coach will be thorough and extensive and is already underway.
"While that work is undertaken the existing coaching staff of Craig Short, Leon Blackmore-Such and Wayne Brown will take charge of the First Team with their immediate focus being our next game, away at Lincoln City on Saturday."
On his Rangers exit in November 2021, Murty commented: "I would like to thank the fantastic staff, players, parents and supporters that have made the last 5 years such an amazing experience.
"It has been an honour and a privilege to represent this historic club and be a part of its journey back to where it belongs.
"I would also like to thank the Board of Directors for their faith and support when asking me to take on 1st team responsibilities, which I was very honoured and proud to accept.
"My family and I have loved our time in Glasgow and look forward to our next adventure."
