Michael Beale has been defended over his Rangers team selection in Sunday's Viaplay Cup final by John Hartson.
The Ibrox gaffer came under scrutiny in the aftermath of the showpiece game for his failure to start Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin in the match.
Instead, the Englishman opted for John Lundstram and Glen Kamara as his two midfield holders, with Malik Tillman featuring in the more advanced role.
Both Cantwell and Raskin have impressed during their short cameos in the team so far, albeit they hadn't come up against an opponent as strong as Celtic.
The likes of Berry Ferguson and Andy Halliday have been critical of Beale for his team selection for the cup final.
However, Hoops hero Harton has backed Beale over his choices, insisting hindsight is a wonderful thing.
He told Go Radio's Football Show: "He's gone with what he feels was his best, fit 11 players. Now, Tillman's been very good for him in recent weeks.
"Yes, Lundstram has been lacking that game time, he's missed several games, but Lundstram has been a big player for him. He's been a big player for Rangers since he arrived.

"It's always easy to talk in the aftermath. If Rangers had gone and did okay, then it would have been the correct decision.
"I know it's all ifs and buts and what may have been, but he's gone with the team that he felt would impact Celtic on the day.
"Now we can look at it and say Beale may put his hand up and say, 'I may well have gone with Raskin'.
"But he trusted Lundstram on that particular day to go and perform for him and it never quite worked out."
