Ryan Kent has been warned not to ditch big European nights with Rangers in favour of potential Championship football next season.

The winger is out of contract at Ibrox in the coming months.

The Englishman, along with some other key figures, is free to leave the Light Blues come the end of the season.

Kent is one of several high-profile names who could leave for nothing. Alfredo Morelos, Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor, Filip Helander, and Ryan Jack are the others.

The 26-year-old joined the Ibrox club from Liverpool on an initial love move, before making it a permanent transfer in the summer of 2019 for £7million.

Michael Beale recently revealed that he is due to sit down with Kent and other players to try to come to a deal that would see them stay put at Ibrox over the coming seasons.

Speculation over Kent's future has been mounting for some time now.

One club that has been repeatedly linked with the attacker is Leeds United.

But Alan Hutton reckons a factor of Kent's ultimate decision could come down to what division Leeds are playing in next season.

If it's the Championship, Hutton has told Kent to stay put in Glasgow.

Hutton was asked by Football Insider if Kent would be interested should Leeds be relegated this term.

He replied: "I would not if it was me. I can only talk from my point of view and when I left Rangers I would not have wanted to leave playing in the Champions League or European competitions to go to a team in the Championship.

"That is no disrespect to that league, it is just sometimes the grass is not always greener.

"I have got a feeling that he wants to stay. I think he can do good things at Rangers. Your head would only turn if it was a good option for you and I do not see the Championship as being that."
