Falkirk captain Stephen McGinn has offered a hint to the date of this season's Scottish Cup semi-finals.

Rangers will take on Celtic, while the Bairns will take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the national stadium.

Both games are set to be crackers, but it still remains to be seen what fixture will take place on the Saturday and Sunday of the semi-final weekend.

The fixtures will take place on the weekend of April 29 and offering an insight, McGinn told The Go Radio Football Show: "We expect to play on the Saturday, and we expect to be the BBC game. We expect Viaplay to take Celtic vs Rangers game on the Sunday.

"I saw some things on Twitter about the Kiltwalk on the Sunday so you're never sure. But, we expect it to be the Sunday."

Substitute Kai Kennedy’s late strike earned Falkirk a dramatic 2-1 comeback win over Ayr United to set up a Scottish Cup semi-final against Inverness.

Somerset Park striker Dipo Akinyemi drove in his 21st goal of the season for Lee Bullen’s Championship side after 12 minutes before the home side got going, eventually and deservedly levelling in the 66th minute through a Callumn Morrison penalty.

Ayr’s Chris Maguire hit a post with a penalty in the 81st minute before Kennedy fired home a deflected drive minutes later to put John McGlynn’s League One side into the last four for the first time since 2015.

On the game, McGlynn said: “I think Billy Dodds and I will be delighted that we are playing each other – and that’s no disrespect.

“We both would have wanted to stay away from Celtic and Rangers and we’ve managed that.

“Inverness were different class against Kilmarnock on Friday night. They are a right good side and we know we will be in a game.

“But Ayr are fourth in the Championship and we have shown we can match them.

“The players have got plenty of motivation to keep their league form going ahead of the semi-final.

“This club was at rock bottom last summer so it’s a dream come true for us to be in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

"The fans will love their trip to Hampden. I don’t know how many we will take – maybe 15,000 to 20,000.

“There were 6,375 at the game tonight, they have a big occasion to look forward to and it means everything.

"Financially it’s a big pay day for the football club and that can only help us strengthen.”
