Ally McCoist was stealth-like as he dodged a cheeky dig from fellow pundit Chris Sutton this evening.

The Rangers and Celtic heroes appeared on BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra tonight to discuss some of the latest talking points in our game.

Alfredo Morelos' position at Rangers was one of those points which commanded a segment on the show.

With the Colombian out of contract at Ibrox in the coming months, it appears increasingly likely that the striker will depart Glasgow in the summer.

Michael Beale admitted that he was looking for a "little bit more" from the 26-year-old should he want to stay at Ibrox.

Antonio Colak has been the preferred option up top in recent weeks.

Tonight, McCoist was asked by Darrell Currie if he would present Morelos with a new deal if he were in Beale's shoes.

The Gers legend replied: "I would need to sit him down and have a serious chat with him. I'd need to find out where his head is, where he wants to be, where he thinks he can be, what he wants to achieve. How does he feels he's done and what he thinks he can do."

Sutton then saw his chance to have a cheeky go at the Pundit of the Year.

He joked: "Just answer the question. You're pundit of the year."

And McCoist answered: "A very fit Alfredo Morelos is the best centre-forward Rangers have got."

Sutton then pointed out that he's not in great shape. McCoist came back in: "Exactly! So sit him down and ask him. You need to tell him (to get fit)."
