Alfredo Morelos "kind of threw his toys out of the pram" after discovering he wouldn't be Rangers' first-choice striker this season.

That's the view point of former Ibrox defender Alan Hutton.

The pundit reckons Antonio Colak's presence at the Light Blues pushed Morelos to kick up a fuss.

It would be fair to say that Morelos' form this season has been off-colour, certainly by his usual standards.

It appears that his six-year stint in Glasgow will be coming to an end this summer, with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

Michael Beale recently admitted that the 26-year-old needed to show more to him if he planned on hanging about at Ibrox.

Discussing Morelos' situation this term, Hutton reckons the forward took the huff when Colak arrived in the summer the former PAOK.

Hutton told Football Insider: “When you look at the last couple of seasons there has been a lot of chatter about him leaving. Then Colak came in and he had the injury, and missed the [Europa League] final.

“Part of me thinks that he thought he was going to be first choice as soon as he was back fit.

"It did not work out that way and it seemed like he kind of threw his toys out the pram a little bit when he did not come in as the main guy.

"In recent weeks we have seen him playing at a better level, a better standard and it looks like he is looking after himself. But, is he up for the fight with Colak? Only he can tell us that.”
