Celtic forward Daizen Maeda has detailed "adjustments" he has made to his training regime to combat ongoing injury issues.

The Japan international was forced off early against Hearts during the recent 3-1 league win and was then left out of the Parkhead side's Scottish Cup quarter-final triumph at Tynecastle.

He did return to the pitch during the match against Hibernian, playing for 60 minutes.

And now he has revealed that despite having a knee issue, the change in training style allowed him to stay fit and be included in Japan's squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Uruguay and Colombia.

He told Japanese outlet Hochi: " I have adjusted for about an hour by cycling and jogging before training.

"I'm going to make adjustments so that I can make it in time for games."

Meanwhile, Celtic hero Scott Brown has praised Ange Postecoglou's recruitment at Celtic, calling it "exceptional".

The former Hoops captain, who is currently in charge of English League One side Fleetwood Town, feels the Australian deserves plenty of praise for how he has performed in the transfer market.

Brown highlighted how the 57-year-old has used his knowledge of the J1 League to bring in player such as Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda.

He said: "His recruitment has been exceptional. There’s been a lot of British people coming to the club from England as well.

"But he’s got great recruitment. I know he was over in Japan for a time and he would have seen and understood what they are like.

"You can see how well the players that have come over and bought into his understanding of the way he wants to play football and the way the club is as well."
