Rangers are reportedly keeping an eye on Nottingham Forest's Jonathan Panzo.

The young defender is currently impressing on loan in the Championship with Coventry City.

He only joined Forest last summer but could be set for another new venture come the end of this season.

Panzo is a familiar face to Michael Beale, having worked together in the youth ranks at Chelsea.

So, it's little surprise that Panzo has come on the radar of the Ibrox scouting team.

Who is Jonathan Panzo?

Panzo is 22 years old. He is an England defender. 

He currently plays on loan at Championship side Coventry City.

He came through the academy ranks at Chelsea before signing for Monaco in 2018.

He gained experience in the south of France before moving to Dijion, where he featured in their first team.

Last summer, Nottingham Forest signed Panzo ahead of their assault on the Premier League for a fee believed to be around £1.5million.

Forest boss Steve Cooper decided to loan Panzo out to Coventry where he has impressed at Mark Robins' outfit so far this season.

Panzo has been capped by England at under 16, 17, 18, 19, and 21 levels.

What kind of player is Jonathan Panzo?

The younger player is a centre-back. Panzo is left-footed. 

He's 6ft1 and is renowned for his athletic ability to cover ground at the back.

He can play on the left of a back three, or simply on the left of a back two. He does sometimes drift into left-back areas of the field.

He's featured in 28 games so far this season for Coventry. He has seven yellow cards to his name, as well as one red.

Panzo is also a threat at set pieces, which could suit Beale's new tactics at Ibrox.

What is Jonathan Panzo's value?

According to Transfermarkt, Panzo's current transfer value is €3million.

This equates to around £2.6million.

His contract at the City Ground expires in the summer of 2025.
