Rangers "got the hump" with constant Celtic celebrations at Ibrox following derby day defeats, according to Simon Jordan.

The former Crystal Palace owner claims that the reason Rangers reduced the number of Celtic fans from attending Ibrox previously was due to the number of times their arch-rivals would leave their own backyard with a victory.

Last week it was announced that there would be no away fans housed in either Ibrox or Celtic Park for the remaining two derby games in the Premiership this season.

Both clubs cited safety concerns as the main reason for cutting the allocations from 800 down to zero.

It's a far cry from the days of around 8,000 away supporters at either ground to watch one of the biggest fixtures in world football.

However, Jordan has claimed he was led to believe this was down to Rangers getting fed up with Celtic's celebrations on their own patch.

While discussing that Liverpool's away allocation for the clash with Manchester City had been cut with Jim White, the host pointed out the similarities with the situation between Glasgow's big two.

Jordan responded on talkSPORT: "And that's a tragedy. We were up there 18 months ago and the sentiment, I was being led to believe, was that Celtic players were celebrating so many times at Ibrox that Rangers got the hump with it.

"Or the other way round it might've been, might've been Rangers celebrating so many times at Celtic? No, it would've been Celtic, wouldn't it?"
