Rangers star Fashion Sakala tonight scored a vital goal for his country to level in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.

The Ibrox forward netted a stunning equaliser for Zambia against Lesotho to level the scores during the international clash.

Sakala started for his country alongside fellow SPFL performer Frankie Musonda who plays for Ayr.

However, Zambia fell behind after 33 minutes when Tswarelo Bereng netted for visitors Lesotho.

Sakala was on hand four minutes later though to fire Zambia level.

The Rangers forward jinked past two defenders on the left wing before unleashing a powerful effort which found the net.

There were slight concerns for Sakala as his celebrations were muted as he landed awkwardly on his head after an attempted block.

But Sakala played on to help his side to an eventual 3-1 win after a second-half brace from Lameck Banda.

The win puts Zambia top of Group H in Africa Cup of Nations qualifying with two wins from their first three matches.

Ivory Coast have four points after two matches so could leapfrog Zambia, while Comoros are third in the table and Lesotho in bottom spot.
