Alfredo Morelos' time at Rangers will end in the summer, according to a report.

It's claimed the Colombian striker will depart Ibrox at the end of the season when his contract comes to an end.

Michael Beale has been coy on the matter of a renewed deal for Morelos, but now, a bombshell "he's gone" remark has appeared to signal the end of his time at Rangers.

Speaking on the BBC, reporter Kenny Macintyre said: "Morelos, I'm told, he's gone. The manager doesn't see him as part of the plans.

"It's difficult for the manager to speak about at the moment, I know that."

Morelos first signed for Rangers under Pedro Caixinha back in 2017. He was signed for £1million and was linked with a host of transfer exits during his six-year spell in Govan.

He had been in talks with Rangers over a new deal when Giovanni van Bronckhorst was managed but negotiations were halted when he was dropped over attitude concerns.

Quizzed on contract talks with the out-of-contract Rangers players, Beale said last week:  “There’s been a lot of work the last couple of weeks in speaking to players in house and also us sitting down and looking more towards the recruitment of next year as well.

“Unfortunately for you guys, I'm not telling you anything today, but we have been talking. As soon as we've got something to share, we will share it. I think the most important thing is that we have those conversations in house and they remain private until everyone's on the same page.

“Nothing's changed in in relation to Kent and Morelos. They're both training well. They're both available for selection and and again, I think both those boys, you're more than welcome to ask me every week and get the same answer. But no, we spoke to them and it's still ongoing.”

He added: “We are very aligned and I have a strong relationship with Ross. We are clear on our decisions and will select the correct moment to communicate this. We have money to spend - a good amount for a Rangers manager, I think, and I'm really positive about the summer and the future.

"I appreciate that everyone wants us to communicate outwards which players we're signing and things like that. But it doesn't work like that. We have 10 games to go so I have to be respectful, to the players inside as well."
