Celtic are considering a bid for Maribor striker Zan Vipotni, according to a report.

It's said that the highly-rated 21-year-old has attracted interest from the Scottish champions.

Football Scotland state that the attacker is on a list of Celtic's summer transfer targets.

However, they do point out that Ange Postecoglou's side will face stiff competition to sign Vipotnik.

The young frontman has enjoyed an impressive season with Maribor, scoring 19 goals in 32 league games in Slovenia.

It's believed that Celtic are in the market for another striker, with only two first-teamers on the books as things stand in the shape of Kyogo and Oh Hyeon-gyu.

The report claims that while Celtic have been in contact with Vipotnik's agent, the process is still at a very early stage.

No official bid has been made nor is expected any time soon, but it is anticipated that he would cost Celtic around £3.5million should they wish to pursue a deal.

He is contracted at Maribor until the summer of 2026.

The 21-year-old's agent confirmed to the source that Celtic do hold an interest in his client.

Sasa Zupan is quoted as saying: "Yes, there is interest from Celtic for a summer transfer but there a lot of clubs who want to sign Zan when the window opens."

Meanwhile, Celtic flop Albian Ajeti is returning to Parkhead after Sturm Graz confirmed they have turned down the chance to sign him permanently after a disappointing loan spell.
