Ange Postecoglou was only appointed as Tottenham manager on Tuesday - but already he is preparing to make some huge decisions at his new club.

The Australian manager, 57, signed a four-year deal with the Premier League club as he left Celtic after sealing a domestic treble.

And quickly attention has turned to the task Postecoglou now faces at Spurs with the club hopeful of an improvement on an eighth-placed finish this season.

Now, the Telegraph reports Spurs are set for a major squad overhaul in the summer with plenty of incomings and outgoings in the post-season.

It's claimed the club have already identified possible transfer targets but will now consult Postecoglou for his opinion on the planned signings.

Among the players features Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire with Spurs having reportedly shown an interest in the defender.

The report states a move for Maguire would "delight" Harry Kane - who has been linked with an exit - but there is no link between a move for Maguire and United's interest in Kane.

It's reported that Postecoglou will be briefed on identified targets before giving his opinion - with interest in Leicester pair James Maddison and Harvey Barnes expected.

Postecoglou will also likely have his say on players available for transfer exits from Spurs with a clear-out of the squad a possibility.

It's claimed as many as seven first-team regulars could leave the club including Ben Davies, Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, Clement Lenglet and Hugo Lloris.

Previous reports had suggested Spurs could target Maddison, Wolves defender Max Kilman and Brentford keeper David Raya in his first window as Spurs boss.

On Postecoglou's appointment, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy commented:  “Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play.

"He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy - everything that is important to our Club.

"We are excited to have Ange join us as we prepare for the season ahead."
