Ange Postecoglou is considering a transfer swoop for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, according to reports.

It's claimed the former Celtic boss and Spurs chiefs are discussing whether to make a formal approach over the 25-year-old centre back.

Adarabioyo has one year left on his contract at Craven Cottage and Sky Sports claim he is keen to move on his career.

It's thought Fulham had opened talks with the English defender over a new deal but discussions did not progress.

It leaves Fulham in a tricky position should a transfer offer be tabled by Spurs and the player keen to make the move.

Adarabioyo is free to discuss moves abroad on a pre-contract from January. But if Fulham wish to cash in on the player they would likely have to do so this summer window.

It's claimed Tottenham have been monitoring Adarabioyo's contract situation and have held talks over whether to make interest in the defender formal.

The stopper is thought not only to be a potential signing due to fitting the Postecoglou mould at centre-back but also with an eye on homegrown status.

The transfer consideration comes as Davinson Sanchez is set to leave Spurs with the club open to offers, and Clement Lenglet returning to parent club Barcelona after a loan spell in North London.

Sky Sports also claim interest in Marc Guehi remains for Spurs but the defender is being watched by a host of clubs and the defender still has three years left on his Crystal Palace deal.

Discussing his move to Spurs in his first interview since joining the Premier League club, Postecoglou said of the importance of pre-season: "Yeah, it's vital, particularly I think with a new manager coming in, myself coming in, and that gives me the time with the players and there will be new staff in as well, where we could all sort of begin to embed the kind of values and football we want to play.

"Also we get to spend a lot of time together, which I think is a good thing because as much as anything else, we get to know each other as people. So it's vital to our season ahead."
