Kyle Lafferty has signed for Johnstone Burgh.

The former Rangers, Hearts, and Kilmarnock forward has joined the seventh-tier side in a shock move.

The 35-year-old has penned a two-year deal with the ambitious West of Scotland Division 1 outfit.

It comes a matter of weeks after the Northern Ireland international left Linfield.

Lafferty endured a difficult time on and off the field last term at Killie and then his boyhood team Linfield.

The striker was banned for ten matches after being found guilty of using a sectarian slur while in a Belfast night spot last September.

The Rugby Park outfit stood by the frontman during that time, and he eventually returned in mid-January for the club's League Cup semi-final against Celtic.

However, a later disciplinary issue arose towards the end of the winter window, and Lafferty and Killie parted company.

He joined Linfield a short while later, but injuries played their part and he didn't manage a single goal in his NIFL Premier Division outings.
