Ange Postecoglou has hit back at a Bayern Munich chief over their public comments regarding Harry Kane.

The Tottenham boss took a brutal swipe at the German giant's honorary president Uli Hoeness while speaking to the media a short while ago.

The Bundesliga champions are the frontrunners to sign the Spurs and England captain this summer.

Kane has just one year remaining on his contract at his boyhood club, and at this point, it seems unlikely he will sign an extension.

Postecoglou has been open in his desire to keep Kane as a Spurs player for as long as possible.

But the former Celtic manager didn't hold back as he took aim at Hoeness for discussing Spurs' skipper in public.

He said: "No, no one has spoken to me from Munich."

It was then put to the boss if Hoeness' public comments had caused any disruptions in the Spurs camp.

Postecoglou added: "There hasn't been a discussion. Look, people know Harry better than me, but he's not going to get phased by anything.

"He's here, and while he's here, he's totally committed to what we're doing. That's the way I've seen things.

"In terms of me, it has zero impact on me. If other people at other clubs want to talk about our contracted players that's more of an issue for them than us."

Kane returned to Spurs for pre-season training last week after being granted extra time off due to his international commitments back in June.

If Spurs were to sell the striker this summer, it's believed that Daniel Levy would hold out for a fee north of £80million.

It comes as David Moyes dismissed any suggestions that Ange Postecoglou doesn't have what it takes to be a Premier League manager.

The West Ham United boss shut down a question posed after his side took on Tottenham in a pre-season friendly match in Australia.

The Scot was asked if the 57-year-old would be capable of handling the pressures that come with managing at Spurs after joining on a four-year deal last month.

And Moyes was quick off the mark to point out that Postecoglou handled the pressure of managing Celtic with no problem at all.

He emphatically responded: “He’ll never get more pressure than he did managing Celtic Football Club.

"Celtic Football Club are probably the third or fourth best-supported football club in the world, and if you manage Celtic Football Club, you’re used to pressure. So he’ll have no problem.”
