Rangers have confirmed the expansion of a singing section test at Ibrox.

The club trialed the area inside the stadium during their pre-season matches played at home.

The Light Blues say they have received a positive response to the group, located directly behind the goal at the Copland Road end of the stadium.

And going forward, the trial will continue to be in place for 'low-category' domestic cup matches. This includes their upcoming Viaplay Cup tie against Morton.

A club statement reads: "Following our pre-season singing section trials, the club has received positive feedback from supporters and players about the enhanced atmosphere and the vocal support during those fixtures.

"The singing section trial will expand to include low-category domestic cup matches at Ibrox, starting with the match against Greenock Morton on Saturday 19 August.

"For this match, the trial will be in selected seats in sections CF3 & CF4.

"The club will continue to investigate various sections for the singing section trial, but with Greenock Morton having a large allocation of 2600 tickets, the Copland is the logistically better option for this match.

"Affected supporters will be contacted in due course and be able to select an alternative seat in an exclusive ‘seat movers’ sale.

"The club recognises and understands that many supporters wish to provide feedback on the singing section trial and as part of our commitment to supporter engagement, we will host a supporter collaboration session at Edmiston House on Thursday 17 August.

"Supporters who are not on CCCS and who wish to be part of the singing section trial can purchase tickets in the MyGers window which begins on Thursday 10 August. Please note that tickets in this area are subject to availability. The club thanks all supporters for their continued backing."
