Real Betis boss Manuel Pellegrini claims his side's defeat to Rangers at Ibrox was "unfair".

The LaLiga side lost 1-0 in the Europa League opener after Abdallah Sima scored the winning goal in the second half.

And the former Manchester City manager feels the scoreline was not a fair reflection of the fixture.

He told Spanish TV: "I think it's an unfair result considering what happened on the pitch. I'm very happy with the team's personality, they went out looking for the game from the start.

"From a corner, they unbalanced the game."

Meanwhile, Michael Beale insists Rangers have "a heck of a player" in youngster Bailey Rice and he cannot wait to see him make an impact.

The Ibrox youth prospect recently signed a contract extension with Rangers, after making his debut for the club last season, and has been a regular part of the B team.

And the Englishman had nothing but good things to say about the midfielder. "I'm telling you we have got a heck of a player in Bailey Rice," he said.

"He is 16, he is not 17 until the end of the month. When I introduce him to this madhouse, and my protection of him is important, but I am telling you he is ready."
