Brendan Rodgers prevented a young fan from being removed from the pitch by security after Celtic's 3-0 victory over Livingston.

The Scottish champions ran out comfortable winners in Almondvale despite being doing to 10 men for the majority of the fixture.

And at full time, as the visiting players celebrated with supporters, a young Hoops fan ran onto the pitch.

He was immediately stopped by security who attempted to remove him from the field before Rodgers intervened and made sure the youngster was able to jump back into the stand

And the 50-year-old explained the incident in his post-match interview with Sky Sports.

He said: "Listen, it is a great day for Celtic. You come here as a player and to have that support it is amazing.

"Especially after a midweek game to get that energy. The wee guy at the end it was just common sense.

"It was a young kid, he is on to see his heroes, the players. He shouldn't be punished or prosecuted for that, especially when the security guys are a lot older than him!

"He just wants to see his heroes, so common sense. I let him back with his mates."
