Celtic face what is likely to be the toughest test in their Champions League group stage campaign this week.

Brendan Rodgers' side will travel to the Spanish capital to take on Atletico Madrid for the second European match in a row.

With the groups now at the halfway stage, the second round of matches will commence this week - and it's Celtic's turn to travel to play Diego Simeone's team.

Celtic are bottom of Group E with one point. This was earned against the La Liga giants a fortnight ago. Atletico are second on five points, and they will be aiming to topple Feyenoord who leads the way on six. Lazio are three above Celtic on four.

Here are all the details you need to know ahead of this one...

Team news

Rodgers will deliver a fitness update on his squad prior to the match in the pre-match press conference.

As far as we're aware at this time though, there are no new injuries for the Irishman to contend with.

Reo Hatate is out long-term. It is expected he will return to first-team action in the New Year.

It seems Celtic came through the away trip to Ross County unscathed having made various changes to their line-up, as Rodgers rotated his squad with this game in mind.

Celtic have no suspensions for this match, but the hosts will be without Rodrigo De Paul who was sent off in the 2-2 draw between the sides at Parkhead last time out.
