Stephen McManus has expressed his delight at the "maturity" of his Celtic team after their UEFA Youth League victory against Lazio.

The young Hoops ran out 2-0 winners in Italy thanks to goals from Daniel Kelly and Bruno Davidson.

It was McManus' side first win in the competition this season after a tough run of results in Europe and he had nothing but good things to say about his players.

Speaking to Celtic TV, he said: "It was a really good performance. The boys have deserved that as the performances in the last month have been good but we have not had the results that we deserved.

"We are delighted for them because they have put so much effort in on a daily basis, they have come to a difficult venue and are playing against a difficult team.

"The boys showed immense composure and real maturity. Throughout the performance we had to change the shape a bit as Josh Dede went off.

"I am delighted for the players because they work hard every day and they get their reward.

"The way we controlled the game in and out of possession, we were good in transition, we were very structured and organised and we were composed."
