Rangers team news vs Aberdeen as cup final starting XI named

Philippe Clement has named his Rangers team to take on Aberdeen in the Viaplay League Cup Final.

From Thursday’s impressive UEFA Europa League victory against Real Betis, the Ibrox manager has named three changes to the starting XI. 

Leon Balogun returns in defence, while Dujon Sterling comes into midfield alongside Todd Cantwell who returns to the matchday squad. 

Rangers start at Hampden with Jack Butland in goal and a back four of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Borna Barisic. 

John Lundstram is joined in midfield by Dujon Sterling and Todd Cantwell, while Abdallah Sima and Ross McCausland will support striker Cyriel Dessers. 

On the bench this afternoon are Robby McCrorie, Ridvan, John Souttar, Sam Lammers, Rabbi Matondo, Kieran Dowell, Scott Wright, Kemar Roofe and Leon King. 

RANGERS: Butland, Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun, Barisic, Lundstram, Sterling, Cantwell, Sima, McCausland, Dessers.

Subs: McCrorie, Ridvan, Souttar, Lammers, Matondo, Dowell, Wright, Roofe, King.
