Liverpool forward Ben Doak has teased an return from injury on social media.

The Scotland under-21 international has been out of action since suffering a knee ligament injury late last year which required surgery.

Anfield assistant Pep Lijnders recently admitted that Doak's injury was a huge concern and that there were fears he could be out for the rest of the season.

He said: "That’s not a good one. He teared his lateral meniscus, which needs surgery. That one will take a longer time.

"He is young, he is a fit guy, he is a positive guy so for sure he will come back stronger, and we need him to come back with the same fire he has with the ball, how he was.

"He can take time and we will wait for him." However, the 18-year-old has posted on his Instagram story teasing a quick return.

He included an egg-timer and a fingers crossed emoji along with an image of himself in action for Liverpool which could be a potential boost for Jurgen Klopp's men if he returns due to their current injury issues.

It would also put Doak in contention for a place in Steve Clarke's Euro 2024 squad.

Meanwhile, a Premier League club is reportedly 'keeping tabs' on former Celtic star Jota.

he Portuguese winger left Parkhead last summer as he moved out to the Middle East to join Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad.

He signed for a club-record fee of £25m in June 2023, joining on a three-year deal.

However, after a promising start, things quickly turned sour in Saudi for the 24-year-old.

In September, he was omitted from the club's Pro League squad, meaning he could only feature in AFC (Asian Champions League) matches or bounce games.

Saudi Pro League rules state that clubs are allowed a maximum of eight foreign players in their domestic squads. So, while N'Golo Kante, Fabinho and Karim Benzema all made the cut, Jota did not.

He's made 11 appearances to date, scoring two goals for the Jeddah club.

It's believed he wants to leave this month in order to get his career back on track.

And Sky Sports says West Ham could be prepared to offer him a route out of Al Ittihad.

It's stated the Hammers' long-term transfer targets are unlikely to be available in this window, so David Moyes' side is instead keen on exploring the loan market.

However, one major issue in any potential deal being done is Jota's wages - with the winger understood to be earning an eye-watering £200,000 per week.

West Ham are also believed to be interested in Nordsjaelland winger Ibrahim Osman.
