Adam Idah's move to Celtic has seemingly been given the green light - with a former Hoops transfer target on his way to Norwich.

Idah, 22, is on his way to becoming the champions' second signing of the month.

The Republic of Ireland international will join the Parkhead side on loan for the remainder of the season, with Celtic believed to then have an option to buy in the summer.

The frontman was initially in talks with Serie A outfit Hellas Verona over a move.

However, once Brendan Rodgers' interest became apparent, Idah changed his mind and had his heart set on Glasgow.

The Championship side were unwilling to let Idah leave until they had drafted in a replacement, though.

Now, according to Football Scotland, it appears Sydney van Hooijdonk is their man.

The son of ex-Celt Pierre will join The Canaries on loan until the summer from Bologna.

The striker is due to undergo a medical today, which should then see Idah put the finishing touches on his switch to Scotland.

The frontman has seven goals for Norwich this season. He will provide competition up top for Kyogo and Oh.

Meanwhile, wantaway Celtic defender Gustaf Lagerbielke has opened up on his frustrations over the collapse of his proposed move to Lecce.

The Swedish international, 23, insists it's a dream of his to play in Serie A.

Yesterday it emerged that the £3m defender's loan switch to the Italian side had fallen through.

This is because the Scottish champions pulled the plug on the deal due to their ongoing injury concerns regarding Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Lagerbielke is behind the Amercian, Liam Scales, Maik Nawrocki and Stephen Welsh in the Parkhead pecking order for the centre-back position. There have been several occasions this season that he's not even made Brendan Rodgers' matchday squad.
