The final touches to Rangers' winter transfer dealings could go right to the wire on deadline day.

The window will close for Premiership clubs at 11.30pm tonight on Thursday, February 1.

Rangers are actively looking to sign players today, with Oscar Cortes already in Glasgow to complete his initial loan from Ligue 1 side Lens.

It's understood Rangers have been looking at other striker options as the clock ticks down too.

One player who won't be joining in this window is Brazilian left-back Jefte, however, he could sign permanently in the summer.

Philippe Clement had already warned fans to expect a busy end to the window, with potential outgoings on the cards too.

"Yes because that’s my job and the job of every manager so we will be busy until the last second probably," Clement said after his side's win at St Mirren. "It’s not just about me and Nils [Koppen]. It’s with a lot of people in the building. We make decisions together and work together.

"That was one of the reasons I came to Rangers - it’s really transparent and open. Everyone has their opinion and we say things behind closed doors and go out with one opinion."

Meanwhile, Clement would not like another manager telling him which players he needs to select for his Rangers team so he is not about to start offering advice to his England counterpart Gareth Southgate on who he should take to the Euro 2024 finals.

“I’m not going to make that mistake,” he said when he was asked about whether he thought Southgate should consider recalling Jack Butland to his national squad ahead of the tournament in Germany this summer given how well the Ibrox goalkeeper has performed since moving to Glasgow last year.
