Partick Thistle have out at the alleged racist abuse of player Tomi Adeloye from their own support.

Kris Doolan's men lost 4-3 against Ayr United as Scott Brown's side came out on top in the seven goal thriller.

Reports have since emerged of racist abuse directed towards Adeloye from the away end.

A club statement read: ""Partick Thistle is appalled to have learned of an alleged incident of racist abuse during Tuesday night’s cinch Championship fixture against Ayr United.

"It is particularly disappointing that the racial abuse, directed towards Tomi Adeloye, has emerged from a Partick Thistle supporting area of Somerset Park.

"Partick Thistle Football Club finds any form of discriminatory behaviour totally abhorrent. It has no place at our club or in any of our communities.

"Partick Thistle has a zero-tolerance policy towards racism and will do everything possible to ensure no incidents of racist abuse take place at Partick Thistle games, both home and away.

"The club will continue to investigate this incident and, if identified, this individual will face the strongest action from the club."
