Dan Casey ended Motherwell's 27-year wait to beat Rangers at Ibrox yesterday.

The powerful defender nodded home at the back post to score the winner in a 2-1 win for Stuart Kettlewell's team in Glasgow.

The result keeps the Fir Park side on the coattails of the sides above them, with an outside chance of finishing in the top six kept alive.

But on the flip side, it was a huge missed opportunity for Rangers to go five points clear of Celtic at the top of the table, with Brendan Rodgers' side now being afforded the chance to go a point clear themselves should they beat Hearts.

Motherwell last beat Rangers on their own patch in 1997 - and it was their first win over the Ibrox club since a 1-0 win in Lanarkshire in 2002.

And the man who scored the winning goal that day looks rather different now.

With no hair left, James McFadden joked he's gone bald twice since that iconic night at Fir Park over two decades ago.

The former Scotland international left BBC presenter Stephen Thompson stunned when he joked about how long it had been since Motherwell last tasted victory over Rangers.

The ex-Birmingham City and Everton forward appeared on Sportscene alongside the host and Neil McCann last night.

It was Thompson who teased McFadden over his appearance in 2002. He said: "1997 was their last win at Ibrox, 2002 is last time Motherwell beat Rangers in the league and it was you Faddy with the winning goal then - and a full head of hair."

To which McFadden quipped: "Yeah, and I've lost it twice since!"

This left both Thompson and fellow pundit McCann in stitches as they laughed with the 40-year-old over his own self-awareness.
