It's not every day the Rangers manager will open up his car to members of the media.

For ex-Gers players though, especially one of Kris Boyd's standing, exceptions can clearly be made.

As part of a feature for Sky Sports' coverage ahead of this weekend's Old Firm derby, the Belgian was joined on his drive around Glasgow with Boyd in his passenger seat.

In the short clip shared on social media, the pair spoke about how the 49-year-old is enjoying his time in the city so far.

"We love it," the ex-Gent, Club Brugge and Monaco manager said. "The passion for football is amazing and I have never seen or heard about it in that way. You cannot explain it to other people. It is a really special place."

Ex-Gers and Kilmarnock striker Boyd then asked if it can sometimes be a little much when he's walking around with his family.

And it was here that Clement admitted he doesn't mind some banter with fans 'from the other side of town,' clearly referring to those of a Celtic persuasion.

He added: "No, it's also a thing that happens in Belgium. People are passionate but also respectful here.

"When they are from the other side of the town a little bit less so but it's not violent and is more about them showing their emotions. I don't mind that."

Rangers will host Celtic on Sunday lunchtime in front of the Sky TV cameras, with an audience of millions waiting to watch the encounter between Glasgow's big two unfold.

Clement's team trail Brendan Rodgers' champions by a single point at the summit of the Premiership, however, the Light Blues do boast a game in hand.ย

This will be played against Dundee next midweek on Wednesday, April 10.
