The odds for the winner of this season's Scottish Cup final between Celtic and Rangers have been revealed.

Celtic are the odds-on favourites to win the trophy against their arch-Glasgow rivals, according to BetVictor.

The teams will meet in the showpiece event on Saturday, May 25, as the curtain comes down on the Scottish football season.

Celtic reached the final with a 6-5 penalty shootout win in their semi-final classic with Aberdeen on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Rangers were not at their best but managed to get the job done comfortably in the end with a 2-0 win against Hearts on Sunday.

Remarkably, it'll be the first time since 2002 that the Glasgow giants will face off in the final of the competition.

And while there's still plenty of football to be played until that day, with the post-split fixtures determining the winner of the Premiership crown, it's Celtic who are the early favourites.

They have been given a price of 8/11 to retain the trophy for a second successive season. Rangers are priced at Evens.

Sam Boswell, spokesperson of BetVictor, said: “After Celtic and Rangers both came through their semi-finals over the weekend, we’re all set for an enticing prospect as the two great Glasgow rivals meet, rather unbelievably, in the first Old Firm Scottish Cup final for 22 years!

“And while we’re expecting an extremely tight contest, we make Celtic the 8/11 favourites heading into the showpiece event at Hampden Park, given their current lead atop the Scottish Premiership.

“But with Rangers priced at Evens to lift the trophy, we’re certainly giving them a strong chance of glory in a match we’re already counting down the days to.”

Meanwhile, the prospect of another Rangers vs Celtic game does NOTHING to whet the appetite of football fans in England.

That's because they feel Glasgow's big two faces each other what feels like 'every week'.
