Ange Postecoglou has joked he's going to move to Sweden after the introduction of VAR was rejected in the country.

The former Celtic manager has been outspoken in his criticism of the operation of VAR in the Premier League this season.

And Postecoglou was left aggrieved by decisions made in the 3-2 loss to Arsenal with Spurs adamant they should have had a penalty and questioning an offside call on Micky van de Ven.

In his press conference on Wednesday, the Tottenham boss was quizzed on VAR with one journalist referencing the decision against the technology in Sweden.

Quick as a flash, Postecoglou smirked: "I'm moving there."

But as potential jobs in Sweden were jokingly suggested, Postecoglou clarified: "I don't have a job [there]!"

Despite his dislike for the way VAR is currently operated in England, Postecoglou ruled out any return to elite level football without the technology in place.

"It's here to stay, absolutely. It's not going away," said the Spurs manager.

"I'd change a hell of a lot on it but I've said before that I think it's changed the game materially which I don't think was the intention when it was brought in.

"I watched the Champions League last night like everyone else did, if you hadn't have told me VAR was part of that game, I wouldn't have known.

"And I'm sure they had decisions to make but it seemed to run pretty seamlessly.

"We're trying to pick the bones out of every little thing that happens in the football game at the moment - whether that's refereeing or any other part.

"I don't like it. It has changed the game and changed the game experience. It's a different game - whether you're involved or not involved.

"But hopefully they will find ground for it to work."
