Trabzonspor manager Abdullah Avci has revealed there will be information on John Lundstram's expected transfer switch "soon".

The Rangers midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season with speculation over a free transfer move to Turkey.

Trabzonspor have been heavily linked for a double transfer swoop for Borna Barisic and team-mate Lundstram this summer.

And Avci has now admitted the Super Lig side are "working intensively" on a deal to land Lundstram as a free transfer.

Pushed on the rumoured move for Lundstram, Avci said: "We are working intensively regarding the transfer.

"There are also those with whom we have come a long way.

"There will be information about him soon."

On transfer plans for the future - after defeat to Besiktas in the Turkish Cup final, the manager added: "We are working for a sustainable and competitive Trabzonspor."

Philippe Clement previously said of Lundstram in April: “There have been offers from the club, but there is no agreement yet.

“I expect he has other offers, yes. I hope he stays. I know he loves to be here.

“It depends on what you can offer and what other clubs can offer.

“That is why I don’t like that important players are at the end of contracts. It’s not a good thing for a club.

“It is something that will never happen again in the period that I’m here, for sure.”
